Changes to our EPC Board of Directors - May 14, 2020.
Hello My Friends,
Our club has always been fortunate to have found the right volunteer leaders at the right time.
Our founding Board of Directors were the right leaders to initiate our club and to build our first EPC Courts at Royal Gardens.
Our next Board of Directors were the right leaders for our time of unprecedented growth in the popularity of our sport, of ballooning memberships, of diversity of programs and the addition of auxiliary court sites throughout the city to truly assume the mantle of Edmonton Pickleball Club.
And now, my friends, it is again time for a new leader –
While it has been my honour and pleasure to serve as President, Edmonton PIckleball Club, since December, 2018, at our Board Meeting last evening, I have taken on a new role on the Board.
For the remainder of my term as Director, I will serve as Vice President – Development, focussing on Site and Program Development which includes the change to the new Pickleball Canada Membership System and the accompanying new website.
And so, it gives me heartfelt pleasure to introduce Ran Newby, as our new President, Edmonton Pickleball Club.
Ran has been on our Board since December 2018 and, most recently, he has served as our club’s Vice President. Ran knows our club well and brings extensive leadership experience to his new role. With quiet determination, he has regularly been involved in all our club initiatives including our Referee Development Program. Before the intrusion of Covid 19, Ran had undertaken to serve as Battle of the Paddle Tournament Director.
Please join me in welcoming Ran to his new role as President!
Last evening at our Board Meeting, we also accepted the resignation of Wendy Schilling as a board director. Wendy had also been with our Board since December 2018 and her participation and support has made a huge impact on our club. Our club has benefitted enormously from her unique perspective, thoughtful input and hardy volunteer effort these past two and a half years!
Wendy, thank you for your service and your support!
