Plans for 2020 - Why You Should Renew - February 13, 2020.

Hello Everyone,

In 2020 there are some very exciting developments in the works for pickleball in general and for EPC specifically, and I think this will be a landmark year for us.  Our sport is exploding both in numbers of players but also in programs and opportunities for play so, buckle up, folks!

We are finding more and more people want to learn to play our game.  I see it all the time with enquiries from Beginners.  So, I think that in 2020, our numbers of Beginners will swell and we will adjust our outdoor courts schedules as needed to accommodate the growing need with lessons and mentoring support.

In 2020, we are also going to separate our Beginners, our 2.0s and our 2.5s and this will be reflected in our courts schedules at Royal Gardens, Jasper Park and Bonnie Doon.

We know many of our players are recreational players and that’s super.  We plan lots of fun offerings for you!

However, at the same time, we are going to pursue more concentrated opportunities for our members who are more competitive and are “chomping at the bit” to get more competition.  We are going to give it to them in spades!  We want EPC the place to go if you want good, consistent competitive play any day or evening of the week!

So, we are going to have more ladders, more mini tournaments, more nationally known “guests” and clinicsOur popular 3.5 League will be back and playing on our home Royal Gardens courts.

Our outdoor courts expansion plan is still on course.  We remain very active in the pursuit of more courts and we are following up on additional possible “leads”.

There is also the very real possibility that in the fall of 2020 we will finally have achieved “a winter home” where our members can play indoors at a large world class site where we can centralise all our indoor offerings!

I will likely have more details for you in the next couple of months. Negotiations are ongoing but the project is very exciting and will be a “game changer” for indoor pickleball in Edmonton!

2020 EPC Membership Renewals are going well and if you haven’t yet renewed your 2020 EPC membership, please do it now.  You don’t want to miss out on the fun!

Cheers,

Helen
