3.5 League Play Affects Court Schedule - July 29, 2019
Hello All EPC 3.0 and 3.5 Players,
Well, summer has finally arrived, and our courts are filled with players! Excellent!
However, I want to alert you to a special event on our Courts at Royal Gardens on Wednesday as it will likely impact both 3.5s and 3.0s.
Our trial 3.5 League Play has been a splendid success thanks to inspired leadership from Randy Dodds and Ken Hurshowy and the talented play of our entire EPC 3.5 Team. Scores are being tallied after each round and EPC is doing very well but victory is not “in the bag”.
Our last scheduled round of league play will be against Parkland Pickleheads on our Courts at Royal Gardens on Wednesday, July 31 from 12:00 to 3:00. Our team will need to play 12 games in total and they should finish by 3:00.
We need the league to begin promptly at 12:00 so please exercise forbearance to allow our team a little time before 12:00 to loosen up, limber up and psych up.
The league play is being scheduled on the permanent courts.
Also, dear 3.0 members who have signed up for the 3.0 Round Robin to begin at 3:00, please wait until the league play is completed before you go onto a court to warm up. Please wait until 3:00 and you are given the signal you can go onto the courts. We don’t want our 3.5 league to be distracted as a full complement of 3.0 players try to take to the courts.
As of this writing our 3.0 Round Robin at 3:00 is full to capacity with 40 players! In fact, many of the 3.0 sessions are full or nearly full and now many members are gravitating to play at Jasper Park instead of or in addition to Royal Gardens. All good and we fully expected this - hence, our rental of court space at Jasper Park.
Later this week, I expect that we will announce changes to some of our longer evening sessions into the more comfortable 2 hour sessions everyone is more accustomed to. There may even be the addition of a “couples play or partners play” session. Please stay tuned to further details!
Best of luck, Team EPC! If you have the time, come out to watch the league play and cheer on our team to victory!
