Good Morning, Everyone,
The full schedule for our EPC Courts at Royal Gardens has now kicked in, Kareem is back on duty as our Programs Manager and we are off and running! Well done, everyone!
There are however, a few “housekeeping’ matters to address –
Firstly, let’s talk about access to the Sport Room where the bathrooms are located and more importantly, where our AED (DEFIBRALLATOR) is located.
The AED Is located in an unlocked case, immediately to your right as you enter the Sport Room. Please look for it the next time you enter the Sport Room.
Starting Monday, we will post the code to the Sport Room Door inside the Tall Shed. That way, it will be accessible to all who need it and no one needs to memorize yet another security code.
When Kareem is on site, the door will be unlocked. When he leaves, he will lock the door.
However, if you are last to leave the courts, please check that the door is locked. If it is not locked, then please lock it up.
Next, let’s talk about No Shows for Events.
Frankly, folks, there cannot be No Shows. If you sign up for an event, kindly show up. I know that sometimes “life happens” to change your best laid plans and, in that case, go back onto SUG (Sign Up Genius) and delete yourself from the event you are going to miss. Telling your friend or emailing me that you are not going to attend is not sufficient. Go onto to SUG and delete yourself from the events.
This past week, I was very disappointed that we had No Shows at two very popular events. The events were so popular that we had to turn members away from SUG registration and yet we had No Shows at the events.
Track It Hub Ladders are off to a great start – despite the wicked wind participants fought.
We are doing Track It Hub Ladders for 3.5 and 4.0+ on Fridays thanks to Patrick Wells, Barry Siwak and Kareem.
We are going to do Track It Hub Ladder for 3.0 starting this Wednesday thanks to Barry Siwak and Kareem. I will do a special email to 3.0 directly to explain more about how Track It Hub Ladders work.
These Ladders will be very popular and many members will want to play in them so please, only sign up if you are going to attend, and arrive 15 minutes early to check in and allow the organisers to set up the matches on Track It Hub. Please do not arrive moments before the ladder is scheduled to start. That’s too late.
And lastly, we are gathering lost and abandoned items at an alarming and unsustainable rate. Please don’t leave your personal items behind. We cannot send out emails to 600 members in search of your lost (or found) items. We do have a “bin” of recently abandoned items in the Large Shed. Check with Kareem to see if any of the items are yours.
It’s going to be a terrific weekend of Pickleball!
Pickleball Club is a registered non-profit organization in Alberta.
