Outdoor Court Procedures
- April 30, 2019

Hello Everyone,

We are just one day away from opening our 2019 outdoor Pickleball season at the EPC Courts at Royal Gardens!

As long as the courts are dry and safe, don’t let the cooler weather deter you – think warm, Sign Up on Sign Up Genius and come on down!

This year, we have many new members and just in case some of our returning members also need refreshing, here is a crash course in our club operations:

Sign Up Genius (SUG) Invitations to Play

You will be sent SUG Invites for each week and please use them to sign up for the times you would like to play.  With so many new members, demand for play will be high so please sign up.  Just dropping by, on spec, will no longer be feasible.

Sign Up Genius is not on our website.  It is stand alone and does not interface with our website so don’t look for it there.  We will send it to you each week.

Round Robin Sessions

All our Round Robin sessions are inclusive.  That means, all players who have signed up for a particular Round Robin will play in one inclusive Round Robin.  We are a friendly bunch and everyone plays happily together.  There is no private group play during Round Robins.

Our Court Access Codes – This is important to Know

The Courts at Royal Gardens can be accessed via Gate A with Access Code available to members via the MEMBERS tab on the website.  Once you are on the courts, please go to the Tall Storage Shed on the courts.

The Access Code to the Tall Storage Shed is available to members via the MEMBERS tab on the website.  Inside the Tall Storage Shed, you will find balls, demo paddles, first aid kit, Round Robin Draw Sheets and Lost and Found.   You will also find a spoon with a key on it.  These keys unlock the other court gates.

In the tall storage shed, you will find Round Robin Boxes which contain the Draw Sheets.  Choose the appropriate Draw Sheet for the number of players in your Round Robin and start to play and enjoy!

If your sign up group has more than 24 sign ups, you will want to set up the portable nets on the adjacent asphalt courts.  There will be four portable nets in the tall storage shed.

The Friday Afternoon Session for 3.5 Ladder and 4.0+ Ladder

Please note that I have changed the description of this session a little just to avoid pain and misunderstandings. This session will use Track It Hub to run 3.5 Ladder and 4.0+ Ladder.  Both ladders will run at the same time to start us off but, over time, I believe the two ladders may merge as our feisty 3.5 begin climb up that ladder.  Don’t be surprised…just sayin’.

For this first week, we will not have Track It Hub fired up yet.  Frankly, we are waiting for Kareem to return on May 9 so he can make sure we set it up correctly.  Track It Hub is well beyond my pay grade so we will just wait for him to return.

We will, however, do a paper version of ladder, record the scores and have Kareem enter those scores when he returns.

The Phishing Scam Continues

We are continuing to be exploited by these scammers.  They are sending members emails, purportedly from me, asking members to buy things and pay bills on my behalf.

If you get such an email request, it is not from me and a scam!  I would never ask you to pay a bill for me from your private funds and I would never ask you to buy products for me from your private funds.

These scammers are awful people!

Apart from the blight of the scammers, things are good!

See you on the courts,

Helen
