Although we do not yet have an opening date yet for Courts at Royal Gardens, I can report that we will release our 2019 Court Schedule at the end of this week.
When you see the 2019 Court Schedule, you will immediately see that we have built a schedule for the entire week – Monday to Sunday. We hope this will appeal to our members who work.
We also have some notable additions – we have two age bracketed sessions for 65+. These are available for all levels of players but all participating players must be 65+. During these sessions, we will loosely group the participants according to ability but all play will be purely for fun! We will also try some mixer formats and we expect these sessions will be raucous with lots of hootin’ and hollerin’ and fun!
Also new this year will be designated sessions at 3.0 and 3.5 that are open to All Ages. These are shown plainly on the schedule. This means that in those designated sessions, youth who play at those skill levels may join these scheduled Round Robins. That also means that sessions which are not designated as All Ages are not available for youth play.
In addition to these All Ages sessions, we have also designated Family Play times on the schedule. And, in the summertime, when school is out, we plan Pickleball Boot Camps for Youth. More on that later in the spring.
That takes me to Friday afternoons –
Patrick Wells and Barry Siwak, along with Kareem Hamdon, will set up and run TrackItHub Ladders for 3.5 and for 4.0+ on Friday afternoons. We are really excited about this and we think this will meet with your approval!
Last year this dynamic trio ran TrackItHub Ladders for 3.5 on Tuesdays and it was hugely successful. Thanks Pat, Barry and Kareem for stepping up!
TrackItHub has the capacity to accommodate several ratings groups. Our plan will be to include all 3.5 and all 4.0+ in the set ups. Initially the 3.5s will play against 3.5s, the 4.0s against 4.0s and so on.
Above all, please remember that this schedule will again be “organic” and subject to change. The guiding mantra, just like last year, will be “use it or lose it”!
So, watch for court schedule in your email later in the week.
