Report on the AGM + More News - December 8, 2018.

Hello Everyone,

A few important things to share today….

AGM on December 6

The AGM was our required annual business meeting at which we reviewed our 2018 financial statements and our 2018 club accomplishments. We also approved the proposed club bylaws changes.  Looking forward to 2019, at the AGM we approved our 2019 membership fee at $50  and we approved our club’s proposed 2019 budget. Our new 2019 Board of Directors was also elected at the AGM.

The President’s Report and the Revised Bylaws will be available for you on our website.  We can also make the approved 2019 Budget available on the website.

2018 has been a very successful year for EPC because of the tremendous support and involvement of our members!  Many special thanks go to our 2018 Board of Directors who led the way: Ran Newby, Ray Richards, Glenn Vickers, Wendy Schilling, Carol Salisny, Doug Bowers and Tom Sperling.

Carol Salisny, Tom Sperling and Doug Bowers are now leaving the board and we will miss them but they have promised to continue to help us in non-board capacities in the future.

The newly elected 2019 Board of Directors are Ray Richards, Ran Newby, Wendy Schilling, Glenn Vickers, Helen Thomson, Nicole Carter, Adele Thomson, Roxanne Garneau and Richard Van Soest.

As a club, we are very fortunate to have such a talented group of members who are willing to serve on our board so give them “a high five” when you see them out and about on the courts.

More News

Our EPC Winter Classic at the Royal Glenora has been very well received by the pickleball community in western Canada.  We have 234 competitors in the tournament from all over the province and beyond!

We are still looking for volunteer referees for the tournament.  Dates are December 28,29,30.  Please email me directly helen.thomson@shaw.ca  if you can help out.

Many of the top PB players in western Canada will be competing in this tournament so, if you are not playing, and you have sufficiently  “recovered from the turkey coma”, come on down to the Glenora and watch the best players in action!

2019 Membership Renewals --

We now have almost 200 regular membership renewals and we are welcoming another 26 Royal Glenora Club members into our EPC!  They are joining us as full EPC members, enjoying all the usual EPC benefits, including regular email updates about club matters!  Welcome Royal Glenora!

That’s all for now.  Enjoy your day!

Helen
