YOU MEET THE NICEST PEOPLE ON A PICKLEBALL COURT

 Newsletter - August 13, 2018.

Hello Everyone,

Just a couple of things this morning,

National Pickle Day Success!

Edmonton Pickleball Club had a very successful National Pickleball Day on August 11!  Over 65 players came out to the Courts at Royal Gardens to enjoy all our game has to offer.  With the agreeable weather, we were able to enjoy one another, our game, snacks and great pizza from Stone Wheel Pizza, one of our Battle of the Paddle sponsors.  Thanks to everyone involved and special thanks to Kareem, who kept things rolling even as more and more players kept arriving!

Ron Strank Charity Members Only Tournament on September 22

Our first Ron Strank Charity Members Only Fun Tournament will be held on September 22.  Sign up for this tournament will be on Sign Up Genius beginning on August 22.  Watch for this separate SUG Invite which will go out to you on August 22.

This year’s tournament is in support of the ALS Society.

The Tournament Director is Doug Thomson and Frieda Van Herck is this year’s Honorary Tournament Director.

This will be a fun tournament.

Format will be Round Robin by your player rating and sign up will be by your player rating.

You do not need a partner to sign up.  Your Tournament Director will finalize formats and pairings once signups are all in.  There will be prizes and, of course, much glory and acclaim for all participants.

Entry fee will be $10 per person.  The entry fee gets you a spot to play in the tournament and admission to the EPC Fall Social later in the afternoon on September 22 at the RG Community League Hall.

If you choose not to participate in the tournament, your admission to the Fall Social is still $10.

Payment will be cash only on September 22.

The weather will surely cooperate with us on September 22 but please note that there will be no rain out date.  The Fall Social will, of course, proceed as planned regardless of weather.

All proceeds will go to the ALS Society, the chosen beneficiary of this year’s charity tournament. We plan to make this tournament an annual event with each year in support of a different cause.

Our Fall Social will be a celebration of our courts, our season, our friendships and our many, many volunteers who have come forward to make this such a successful and enjoyable season!

So watch for your SUG Invite on August 22 and plan to join us for this fun and worthy event.

Cheers,

Helen
