Grand Opening of the new Edmonton Pickleball Courts at Royal Gardens
will be held on Friday, June 1 2018, 9:00-9:45 AM
Royal Gardens Community League, 4030-117 Street NW, Edmonton
The press and public are invited to the Grand Opening of the Edmonton Pickleball Courts at Royal Gardens on June 1, 2018. These courts are Edmonton's newest 10 court facility.
The facility was built with cooperation from the support of the City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Pickleball Club, the Edmonton Pickleball Club Founders Club Members, the Royal Garden Community League and the Government of Alberta Lottery Fund. What were once seldom used tennis courts are now six dedicated Pickleball courts and two tennis courts that can be converted to another four Pickelball courts.
The Grand Opening of the courts will be followed by the "Battle of the Paddle", a major tournament with play in Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. We are expecting over 170 Pickleball players from all over Alberta to participate in this Pickleball Canada sanctioned event.
The Edmonton Pickleball Club is a volunteer driven organization with close to three hundred members. This new facility will provide much needed outdoor courts for the fastest growing sport in North America. Pickleball is an easy-to-learn game that promises fun and fitness to people of all ages.
We are very excited to introduce these outdoor Pickleball courts to the Edmonton and surrounding community. They will be well enjoyed by many! Please join us and join in the Pickleball experience!
A word about Pickleball Alberta and Pickleball Canada membership renewals - we will submit EPC membership information to PA/PCO later this month and your PA/PCO membership or renewals will be processed thereafter. We believe this process will be much smoother in future years. Thank you for your patience! And please, if you have not done so, kindly renew your EPC membership at edmontonpickleballclub.org
