It’s been a busy winter for Edmonton Pickleball Club! We have lots of news for you.
We’ve had much positive media attention as our sport is growing in popularity and our club is establishing itself as “the” Pickleball club in Edmonton! Many thanks to Doug Bowers, Carol Salisny and Wendy Schilling!
Club members have also been very busy planning our Gala Grand Opening of our Courts at Royal Gardens on June 1, 2018 at 9:00-9:45 as well as a thrilling Social Event following the first day of tournament play! More thanks to Carol Salisny, Wendy Schilling, Rose Bateman, Mike Tarapacki, Debbie Lamoureux, Carolyn O’Brien.
The Gala Grand Opening ceremonies will be followed by three days of Battle of the Paddle sanctioned tournament play on June 1, 2, 3, 2018. Doug Thomson is busy working away on the tournament and registration will be open soon on pickleballtournaments.com. Remember that this is a sanctioned tournament which means that you will need to have renewed your 2018 EPC membership (which gives you a Pickleball Canada number) to register for Battle of the Paddle.
Many club functions take place “behind the scenes” and we want to thank Ken Hurshowy for his diligence and his willingness to share his knowledge of Wild Apricot, the “website creature” which is the infrastructure of our club!
EPC member, Judy Bishop, wants to know if there is interest in a Pickleball Adventure to Las Brias Resort in Mexico next January. Please contact Judy directly if this appeals to your sense of Pickleball adventure! email@example.com
